‘’One’’ Is a motivating book that is written and illustrated by Kathryn Otoshi. The theme of the story is anti-bullying and leading by example. The book is about the color blue getting bullied by red and no one would stand up for him because they are too afraid. Red would say to blue red is hot and blue is not so that would make blue sad. One day number one came and made the others laugh but when red comes he tells everyone to stop laughing and they did except for number one. Number one said that he won’t and everyone stuck up and they all became numbers  when blue comes along he stands up and becomes a number that left red sad and he left but then blue said that cant red be hot and blue be cool and then red stopped and became a number and then they became all friends. Overall I think that was a motivating story that tells you can stand up to bullying.

”Ivan the Remarkable true story of the shopping mall gorilla” Is written by Katherine Applegate and illustrated by G Brian Ross. The book is about a sad story of a gorilla named Ivan the book starts off of a six month Ivan getting poached and then they put him in a crate with another young gorilla named Berman. When they arrive in Tacoma Berman dies in a couple months so then Ivan lives with the pet store owner and he lives as a human. but when he gets bigger the put him in a 14 by 14 chamber and he lives there till the zoo rescues him. Ivan dies in 2011 at 5o years old in the Atlanta zoo. What I think of the story is it starts off sad but it has a happy ending and I think that it is great that people stood up for him and helped him get to the zoo.
