Stolen Words

The book we read today is called ”Stolen Words” and it was written by Melanie Florence and illustrated by Gabrielle Grimard. Stolen word is a book about a young First Nations girl who wants to learn about Cree so it starts out her walking home from school and she asks how do you say grandfather in Cree and her grandfather say his words were stolen.  The next day she brought a book from the library about Cree and asked her grandpa if he would read it and he looked at the booked and remembers a few stolen words. In my opion, this is a great book because it tells you a lot of history in one little book.

Hey,Little Ant

‘Hey, Little Ant’ is a children’s book for an audience from 4 two 8 and the authors are Phillip and Hannah Hoose and illustrations are from Debbie Tilley. The book is about a boy who wants to squish an ant. But the boy here’s the ant side of the story and at first the boy didn’t get it but in the end, he realized that the ant has feelings too. The moral of the story is that everyone has feeling and in my opinion, I think that this is a good story because it teaches the young reader that everyone has feelings. In my opinion, I think that is a great storybook.
