”Wanted The Perfect Pet” is a book written by Fiona Robertson. The book is about is a young boy named Henry and the one thing he wanted. The one thing Henry wanted was a dog but his mom did not let him because he already had a lot of frogs. His mom gave in and let him get a dog so he put an ad in the newspaper. Then a duck saw the ad but he was not a dog so he dressed up as a dog and went to henrys house. one day they were playing around a tree when the costume came off and Henry saw the duck. After that Henry realized that he liked the duck so he kept it. Some connections I have to the book are that when I was younger I really wanted a dog. Another connection I have to the book is that a lot of people wanted a dog or a pet.

The boy who harnessed the wind is a book written by William Kam Kwamba and Bryan Mealer and illustrated by Elizabeth Zunon. The book is about a young boy that can’t afford to go to school so he makes a wind power generator. Then it helped water the plants to grow food all year. Some connections I have to the book is that my grandma has a farm is it gets very dry in the summer also I have read the full book before. Another connection I have is that many people can’t afford school and food. The last connection I have is that I have heard of the movie before.

After the fall: How Humpty Dumpty got back up again is a book written and illustrated by Dan Santat. It is a great book about how Humpty Dumpty got back onto the wall after he fell. When he fell he got fixed at a Hospital but he was afraid of heights but one day his plane got stuck on a wall so he decided to climb it and he got to the top and got rid of his fears. Some connections I have is that my mom read Humpty Dumpty to me when I was little. Anouther connection I have is that there are many different books about Humpty Dumpty. Another connection I have is that most of the world knows what Humpty Dumpty is. The last connection I have is that there are movies about him.

”There” is a great book written and illustrated by Marie- Louise Fitzpatrick. the book is about a young kid and growing up and he talks about when he’ll get there and questions like where there be rainbows and will I know everything. Some connections  I have is that I was like that when I was younger because I asked a lot of questions. Another connection I  have is that I have read a book about a kid growing up and the adventures he has also I have seen a movie about growing up. Another connection I have is that many young kids dream about this stuff. This book is meant for the ages of 5-8.

”Wangari’s trees of peace” is a true story written by Jeanette Winter. The book starts off if Wangari sitting under trees and then she gets a scholarship to go to America and when she returns there are no trees left. Wangari decides to plant more trees but the government does not let her and they get mad so they threw her in jail and beat her. I can connect to that story because I love nature and trees because I mountain bike a lot and walk in the forests. Another connection I have is that I see in books a lot of nature. Another connection I have is that on the news they talk about trees are going down to build more cities.  Another connection I have is that the world is losing trees to forest fires and builders trying to expand cities.

‘The fantastic undersea life of Jacques Cousteau” is a great book written by Dan Yaccarina. The book is about  Jacques Cousteau and his adventures. The story starts off by a weak Jacques swimming to get stronger but he realizes that he loves the water. When he got older bought a boat when he grew up and made the first scuba suit and he started to go deeper and deeper and he made the submarine and then he made a film of him underwater. Jacques Cousteau died on June 25, 1997. There are a variety of connections I can make to the book like that I went scuba divining in Hawaii when I was 6 and I remember seeing all the tropical fish. Another connection I can make is I have read a magazine about him but I forgot what it was called. Another connection I can make is that he is very famous in the world and he helped the world see the ocean as we see it today. Another connection I can make is that I see him all over tv and social media pages.

”Enemy pie” is a funny book written by Derek Munson and illustrated by Tara Callahan King. The book is about a young kid with an enemy so he told his dad and his dad says you have to be friends with him for the day while he was making an enemy pie. When they were hanging out they were having to much fun to be enemies and when his dad called them in but he did not want to give him the enemy pie but it turns out it was just normal pie. There are a variety connection I can make to the book like I used to have an enemy and I wish he would move away. Another connection I have is that I have read lots of books where there are enemies in them. I can also relate because I saw on tv that Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un were enemies. In all there where some connection I can make to that funny story.

Dragon of pie is a funny book about math. The book is written by Cindy Neuschwander and illustrated by Wayne Geehan. The book starts off by Sir Cumference having a terrible stomach ake and he asked his son to get him some medicine but  Radius got the wrong type and Sir Cumfrence turned into a dragon. When Sir Cumfrence turned into a dragon his son radius had to find something that could turn him back into a human before the soldiers kill him. Finally, Radius found a solution called pi so he measured the circle and put the right amount of potion in to turn him back to a human. the theme of the story is problem-solving. the message from the book is you do use math in real life and I liked the book because we just learned about that in our last math unit.

For my final act of kindness, I helped out Sebby. Sebyy broke his arm snowboarding so I decided to help him. What he needed help with was bringing his bag to his desk putting all the supplies in his backpack and getting his jacket on. He was thankful for me helping him and he said thank you. I feel really good about what I did and I think I should help out more.

”Morris Micklewhite and the tangerine dress” is a book written by Christine Baldacchino and illustrated by Isabelle Malenfant. The theme of the story is courage and creativity. Morris Micklewhite and the tangerine dress is a great book about a young boy named Morris who gets bullied for acting like a girl. The story starts off by Morris singing loud at circle time and running around the playground but Morris would get bullied for wearing a dress and the other kid would say boys don’t wear dresses. Morris would feel sick from getting bullied and he would pretend to go on a space mission and when he went back he was stronger and he stood up to bullies. The message of the story is you can be whoever you want to be. In my opinion, I think this is a great book about letting people be when they want to be.
